Agra is a historic city in northern India’s Uttar Pradesh state, located on the banks of the Yamuna River. Renowned as the crowning jewel of the Mughal Empire, it is home to three UNESCO World Heritage Sites: the Taj Mahal, Agra Fort, and the deserted city of Fatehpur Sikri.

Must-See Historical Attractions

- The Taj Mahal: The crown jewel of India. It is highly recommended to book a sunrise or sunset tour to witness the marble shift colors in the changing light.
- Agra Fort: A massive 16th-century red sandstone fortress. It features stunning palaces and offers spectacular, distant views of the Taj Mahal from its marble balconies.
- Tomb of I’timād-ud-Daulah (Baby Taj): An exquisite precursor to the Taj Mahal. This smaller, intricately carved marble mausoleum is located on the Yamuna river and offers a much quieter, serene experience.

Akbar’s Tomb: Located in Sikandra, this striking sandstone and marble mausoleum is the resting place of the great Mughal Emperor Akbar.
Fatehpur Sikri: Located just about an hour outside the city, this UNESCO World Heritage Site is a remarkably preserved 16th-century ghost town and former Mughal capital.
