Nagaland, often referred to as the “Land of Festivals” and the “Switzerland of the East,” is a mountainous state located in the extreme northeastern corner of India. Officially inaugurated as the 16th state of the Indian Union on December 1, 1963, it is a land of profound cultural diversity, bordered by Myanmar to the east, Arunachal Pradesh to the north, Assam to the west, and Manipur to the south.

The Naga People: The state is home to 16-17 major indigenous tribes and numerous sub-tribes, collectively known as Nagas. Each tribe has its own unique traditions, languages, and traditional attire, often distinguished by colorful, hand-woven shawls.
Festivals: Almost every month features a festival related to agriculture, reflecting the importance of farming in Naga society.
