Bhubaneswar, the capital of Odisha, is famously known as the “Temple City of India”. Known historically as the epicenter of the ancient Kalinga Empire, Bhubaneswar features hundreds of sandstone shrines scattered around the city. The crown jewel is the 11th-century Lingaraja Temple, an architectural marvel dedicated to Lord Shiva. Other prominent landmarks include the Mukteshwar and Rajarani temples, showcasing the intricate Kalinga style of architecture.
